How often does the data update?

Rankings are recalculated daily. Each refresh re-reads the full mention history, so a position reflects mention activity through the most recent refresh.

Where does the data come from?

Creator accounts on the Beacons platform, across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Beam analyses the content those accounts publish and records every brand mention it finds, including mentions that appear only in a video transcript.

How is this different from follower-count tools?

Follower counts measure how large an audience is. Universe measures brand activity — which brands creators actually mention, how often, and how many separate creators mention them — from first-party creator data rather than public follower estimates.
