Mitchell Berryman, aka "The Average Rook", is a variety gaming YouTuber with an emphasis on Indie titles. But he's also partial to Retro titles, RPGs, Puzzles, and the odd FPS. Mitchell started content creation in October 2019 making gaming playthroughs on YouTube, as a means to get video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, and to make use out of his qualifications (Diploma and Advanced Diploma in "Screen & Media" and Bachelor's Degree in "Creative Writing" at RMIT University). After a year of making and uploading gaming videos to his YouTube channel, he was found and contacted by EndemolShine for an audition, ending up as a contestant for the revamped 2021 edition of "Beauty and the Geek Australia" on Channel 9. It was this experience that allowed him to rediscover what it meant to be a geek, and become friends with so many others who shared his love of varied media. Mitchell has also dabbled in cosplay, having performed his first ever cosplay at PAX Aus 2022 as Jim Carrey's "The Mask". Since 2022-2023, Mitchell has been experimenting with portrait content, mainly TokyoTreat unboxings, editing Twitch clips, and con/event vlogs. He has also been a creator for PAX Australia and Dreamhack Australia, and worked with ReachOut Australia on his first ever charity campaign in August 2024. Mitchell has also worked in showcasing indie titles and casually interviewing developers, thanks to The IndiEXP, Keymailer, Lurkit & PressEngine. Mitchell is open to working with anything tech, gaming or food-related, provided the business is ethical. Research is his weakness but voice is his strength, and his theatrical personality (thanks to performing in school productions and concert band) means he's not afraid to talk in front of an audience.
