I’m Dez, aka Southern Sillage — a fragrance content creator born and raised in Southern Louisiana, where culture, family, personality, and leaving a lasting impression have always been a part of who I am.
Long before Southern Sillage became a platform, fragrance was already a passion of mine. I’ve loved fragrances since childhood. There has always been something special about the way a scent can create a memory, boost your confidence, complement your personality, and speak for you before you ever say a word.
My journey extends far beyond fragrance. I’m a proud 6-year veteran of the United States Air Force, a 20+ year law enforcement veteran, a husband, and a father of three. Those experiences have helped shape the man I am today and taught me the importance of integrity, authenticity, discipline, and staying true to yourself.
After years of simply enjoying fragrances on my own, I decided it was time to share that passion with the world. Southern Sillage became my way of talking about the fragrances I love, sharing my experiences, helping people discover new scents, and connecting with others who simply want to SMELL GOOD.
When it comes to my content, authenticity will always come first. I believe in being true to myself and giving my genuine thoughts and opinions. Fragrance is subjective—what works for me may not work for everyone—and I respect that. My goal isn’t to tell you what you’re supposed to like. It’s to share my experience honestly and hopefully help you find something that makes YOU feel and smell your best.
Whether it’s designer, niche, Middle Eastern, indie, affordable, or something completely unexpected, if it smells good, I’m interested. I don’t believe smelling amazing has to be complicated or come with a certain price tag.
At the end of the day, I just love to smell good. And if I can use my passion, experience, and platform to help someone else do the same, that’s what Southern Sillage is all about.
