Hi, I’m Lisa Ortiz, an author, survivor speaker, advocate, and formerly incarcerated woman turning my lived experiences into purpose.
My story includes childhood abuse and neglect, domestic violence, trauma, addiction, incarceration, and rebuilding my life after spending 15 years incarcerated. Today, I use those experiences to speak honestly about survival, accountability, healing, faith, reentry, second chances, and discovering purpose after some of life’s darkest chapters.
I’m the author of She Wore Her Scars Like Wings: A Memoir of Pain, Power and Rebirth and Founder of Scars Like Wings Foundation, Inc., where our mission includes supporting and uplifting survivors of domestic violence and women impacted by incarceration.
My message is simple: your worst chapter does not have to become your final chapter.
I’m available for podcasts, speaking engagements, panels, interviews, survivor events, faith-based conversations, reentry and prison advocacy programs, book events, media features, and meaningful collaborations with organizations and brands aligned with my mission.
I survived it. Now I speak about it.
With Love,
Lisa Ortiz
